Most people don’t even realize they’re doing things that make it impossible to lose weight. By correcting these mistakes, you will get the results you want.

Many people find losing weight a frustrating process. After all, there are so many diets out there. They all promise the same things but yet nothing seems to change. If you’re struggling to lose weight, it is likely that you’re committing these 5 mistakes.

Mistake #1: You’re not focusing on the most important aspects of weight loss.

I walked into my boss’s office with sweaty palms aa

When it comes to losing weight, it’s not one thing you need to do, but rather, a set of key lifestyle changes. Eating healthy and getting exercise is important for sustainable weight loss because they focus on your overall wellness. It’s not just about dropping weight, but when you bring balance to your plate and your activities, you will naturally see the weight come off.

But there’s something else here too.

You can do both of those things, but if you’re not following a proper sleep routine, you’re sabotaging your own efforts. When you don’t get enough sleep, your hormones change and increase your appetite. These also lead you to choose unhealthy foods rather than make good choices. Lack of sleep also influences how your body fat is lost too, so start sending yourself off to bed early enough each night.

nd shaking knees.

“Have a seat,” he said.

Sitting down, I heard the words I’d been dreading all morning:

“I’m letting you know now that we expect there to be a few layoffs in the coming weeks.”

Immediately my heart rate shot up. My throat tightened.

My heart was beating so loud I was surprised my boss couldn’t hear it too!

Yet by some miracle I wasn’t let go that day.

And while I felt like a just dodged a bullet…

At the same time I felt like my days were numbered.

I had to get my act together or I’d be the next casualty of the worsening economic climate.

But that was easier said than done…

Because I stood out like a sore thumb compared to my colleagues.

I had trouble getting to work on time. My productivity was beyond poor. And don’t get me started on how many presentations I’ve put off until the day they were due.

But none of this was by choice. It’s not like I wanted to be lazy. It’s not like I underperformed intentionally.

It’s just that I felt like an old car whose engine would never start until the last second.

And if you’ve ever felt a similar way, then let me ask you:

Mistake #2: You’re not getting enough hydration.

Be honest…are you drinking enough water? When you do, it increases your metabolic rate. Thirst is often confused for hunger because it feels similar. You may wind up eating more than you intended simply because your body was asking for hydration replenishment.

Additionally, water can help you lose weight by taking up space in your stomach to increase feelings of fullness. This makes you consume less calories all while giving your body what it needs. Since water flushes away waste and toxins and helps keep your performance up during workouts, you need to make sure you’re drinking enough.

Mistake #3: You fell for the fasting hype.

Fasting has been a hot topic in recent years with regards to weight loss. While you can lose calories, fat, and weight by doing a fast, it’s not sustainable. It also leads to regaining weight back more quickly. Since your energy stores are low with this method, it can affect your mood and your sleep too, hindering your weight loss efforts while potentially damaging your organs.

Mistake #4: You’re following a restrictive diet.

Restrictive diets aren’t sustainable in the long run. You won’t learn how to eat a balanced and healthy diet, one that serves your entire body and overall health. They often leave you feeling hungry and deprived, setting you up to binge when you just can’t take it anymore.

Additionally, most restrictive diets limit calorie intake to such a degree that it slows down your metabolism. This stands in the way of your weight loss while doing nothing to address your overall health at the same time since your body will conserve the calories it gets and store them as fat.

Mistake #5: You’re following a “calories in, calories out” strategy.

That whole “calories in, calories out” strategy has been debunked because it doesn’t take nutrient density into account. Nutrient-dense foods benefit health far more than nutrient-poor ones. Foods that are dense in nutrients help lower inflammation and lessen your risk for chronic diseases. They also have the benefit of giving you improved longevity and productivity at any age.

Furthermore, Most Diets are Ineffective for One Reason…

A key point you must consider when embarking on a diet to lose weight is that all the diets out there are generalized. They do not take into consideration your own needs. Something that works for one person may not work for someone else.

On top of that, a diet should improve your overall health with weight loss as just another benefit. Your diet should be a new way of life for you, one that isn’t restrictive yet teaches you a sustainable way to live better. In doing so, it will reduce inflammation which is often the hidden problem behind so many weight loss struggles.

How an Anti-Inflammation Diet Can Help You

We’ve covered the mistakes that most people make when trying to lose weight. The solution lies in approaching weight loss with a perspective that focuses on whole health. When you feel nourished and sustained, you won’t feel hungry, tired, or like your brain is in a constant fog.

Cutting out processed foods and sugar that make inflammation soar is the first step. You also need exercises that take you and your lifestyle in mind rather than trying to suffer from yet another bootcamp model.
