How I managed to get unstuck in life and how you can do the same

Feeling stuck in life?

You’re not alone, and you don’t have to stay there. Sometimes life starts to feel like a series of mundane routines, and with the feeling comes a loss of energy and enthusiasm—the things that make us feel alive.

I mean, I can’t really blame you.

My name is Olivia, and I was in the exact same place. I wish I had learned this earlier — it would’ve saved me from some seriously toxic relationships, a dead-end job, and that time I was going to write a cookbook but instead spent my entire Saturday watching Netflix and scrolling Facebook.

Here’s the thing: it doesn’t matter if we’re stuck in a rut because of our jobs or our friends or our significant others (or all of the above).

It doesn’t even matter if we’re only stuck because of ourselves! What matters is that we find a way out.

You can break out of it.

And do you know what’s the best way?

It’s not just getting away from whatever’s holding you back — but getting back to YOUR LIFE.

You need to be living your life according to your own rules, not anyone else’s. And if you’re not doing that right now, you need to start as soon as possible.

If you’re like me (and I think you are), you’ve tried many solutions before and nothing has worked. And now you’re feeling as stuck as ever.

When I was in college, I changed my major three times.

First I thought I wanted to be a veterinarian. Then, for about two weeks, I was going to be a public relations major (I think it’s because I loved the sound of the acronym). And finally, after taking a geology class on volcanoes, I decided that maybe, if everything else fell apart, at least I knew what lava was.

The thing is… my actual major didn’t really matter in the end. Sure, it helped me get a foothold in my career, but the truth is that we’re all changing and evolving so much that an early decision like a major shouldn’t have to dictate your future.

Because here’s something no one tells you: your twenties are basically like being stuck in quicksand.

You know that scene from Jurassic Park where they’re wading through the jungle and they start sinking into this swampy mess? “Stick together! Don’t move!”

That was basically my twenties. My friends were all falling apart around me and I was left alone, wondering if they’d made the right career choices and whether or not their significant others were “the one.”

Then, I eventually got a job I was good at but didn’t like. I had friends I enjoyed spending time with, but they weren’t challenging me to grow. I had hobbies I appreciated, but they weren’t pushing me to be better.

It's so damn easy to get stuck.

If you’re not careful, life can settle into a routine and you can lose sight of what you really want.

I know, because that happened to me.

You see, I had been doing what society expected of me for years—going through the motions of school and working at various jobs that didn’t mean anything to me.

I was miserable. I was in a relationship that was not serving me, I was getting into fights with my friends and family members, I was going home from work every day, scrolling aimlessly through Facebook while a rerun of Sex in the City sauntered by in the background, instead of reading a book or working on a skill, I was sleeping through weekends instead of going out with friends or trying new things.

I was just… stuck. And not just in my relationships or career—but spiritually and mentally too.

This happens to the best of us. I felt frustrated and empty—like nothing would ever change.

And that was when I finally realized there was the ONLY thing I could do to finally get unstuck – I had to change my habits, completely, and I had to rediscover my passion.

Saying YES to the change opportunity

Once I knew the general direction where I wanted to go, I decided to create a specific plan that would help me stay motivated and I’d be able to track my success on the way. Well, easier said than done.
Until one day, I came across the most intriguing website ever: one that offered a quick quiz that you could fill out online in just a few minutes and answer a handful of questions about yourself and your goals.

Based on the answers, they sent me a personalized plan that claimed it would allow me to help me get unstuck and crush my set goals with tons of focus, energy, and willpower.

To be honest, I was super-skeptical, as nothing else had worked before. But I told myself I had to give it a try anyway.

I was even more curious when I saw that the program was designed for ME specifically — it took into account my habits and needs and crafted an action plan based on the information I had provided.

And it worked wonders for me!

Expanding the perspective

I committed myself fully to this plan and stuck with it until one day my life had completely changed (for the better).

What the program did, essentially, was to help me let go of the habits that served me no good, and helped me realize what I was capable of with a little commitment.

My first huge step was getting out of my shitty relationship (if you are in an unhealthy or abusive relationship, please talk to someone! There are people who can help you).

The next step was saving money so when I quit my dead-end job, I would have enough money saved up to support myself while finding another one.

Then, instead of spending my time binge-watching Netflix or scrolling Facebook, I spent time working on myself by learning new skills and talents that could be useful in the new career path that I chose for myself.

So, I did it! And guess what? You can do it, too!

And to think, it all started with a simple quiz!

After that, it’s only a matter of choosing to give it a whirl.
